Station 2

Supporting Emergency Response, Training & Regional Preparedness

Located at 16590 US-12, Cement City, MI 49233, Station 2 serves an important dual role for Addison Fire & EMS. In addition to housing emergency response apparatus, Station 2 is home to the Addison Regional Training Center, providing specialized training opportunities for our personnel and public safety partners throughout the surrounding region.

Emergency Response Capability

Station 2 provides strategically located fire apparatus to support emergency operations throughout our service area.

Apparatus assigned to Station 2 includes:

  • One Pumper Engine

  • One Brush Unit

These resources provide additional capabilities for structure fires, brush and wildland fires, water-supply operations, and other emergency incidents. Unlike Stations 1 and 3, Station 2 is not continuously staffed. Available personnel may respond to Station 2 when additional apparatus or resources are needed for emergency incidents.

Home of the Addison Regional Training Center

Station 2 is also home to the Addison Regional Training Center, an important component of our department's commitment to professional development, firefighter safety, and regional cooperation.

The Training Center provides firefighters and emergency responders with access to specialized equipment and realistic, hands-on training environments. Through grant funding received in 2008 and 2009, Addison Fire & EMS expanded its training capabilities with the acquisition of multiple specialized training trailers and props.

Today, the Regional Training Center supports training in areas including:

  • Live-Fire Suppression

  • Rollover and Flashover Recognition

  • Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) Operations

  • Roof Ventilation

  • Forcible Entry

  • Flammable Liquids and Gas Emergencies

  • Firefighter Survival and Emergency Operations

  • Public Fire & Life Safety Education

These resources allow firefighters to practice critical skills under controlled conditions while preparing for the challenging situations they may encounter during actual emergencies.

A Regional Resource

The Regional Training Center was developed not only to strengthen Addison Fire & EMS, but also to provide opportunities for regional training and cooperation.

By bringing firefighters and emergency responders together for realistic, hands-on training, Station 2 helps promote consistent operations, stronger working relationships, and improved interoperability between departments. These relationships become especially important during major incidents when multiple agencies must work together safely and effectively.

Preparing Today to Serve Tomorrow

Station 2 represents an important part of the Addison Fire & EMS mission. Its combination of emergency response apparatus and specialized training resources allows the department to maintain operational readiness while continually investing in the knowledge, skills, and safety of our personnel.

Whether responding to an emergency or preparing firefighters for the next call, Station 2 and the Addison Regional Training Center remain committed to training, preparedness, and service to our community and regional partners.
